Proximity shopping is on the rise - who will be the first real pan-European convenience store leaders?
The minimarket is the least exported grocery store format in Europe by far. Until now, most international retailers have preferred the higher ROI and lower risk of discount stores and hypermarkets for their foreign expansion.

However, the minimarket has many advantages as the next big export channel. Shoppers increasingly expect competitive prices, technology, click & collect, foodservice and a highly customised, flexible assortment when shopping in small stores. This opens up new minimarket concept synergies across multiple markets.
