dm Partners with Organic Association Demeter

German drugstore leader dm has announced a partnership with Demeter, the largest certification organisation for biodynamic agriculture. The organic association already has an organic label which it only uses for its own products. It has now developed a seal which can be used on retailers’ private label products.

dm Opens First Italian Store

Today, dm has opened its first Italian store following its market exit in 2005. It is located in the city of Milan. The German drugstore operator plans to open around 100 stores in northern and central Italy by 2020.

dm Finally Crosses the EUR10bn Mark

At its full year results press conference, dm announced that it reached its goal of exceeding EUR10bn in sales. In FY 2016/17, the drugstore operator recorded sales of EUR10.3bn (up 5.7%), with Germany contributing EUR7.9bn (up 4.8%) to the company’s total.

German drugstore operator dm has started to test a free click & collect service, Lebensmittel Zeitung reports. Until now, dm charged its customers EUR4.95 for instore pick-up but the drugstore operator is currently testing a charge-free option until the end of August, before any potential roll-out.
