dm Partners with Organic Association Demeter

German drugstore leader dm has announced a partnership with Demeter, the largest certification organisation for biodynamic agriculture. The organic association already has an organic label which it only uses for its own products. It has now developed a seal which can be used on retailers’ private label products.

Migros' Progress Driven by Online in 2017

Swiss grocery leader Migros reported a steady performance for 2017. Net sales across all its divisions increased by 1% to CHF28bn (EUR25.19bn). Whilst sales at its supermarkets edged down 0.8%, the retailer's performance was boosted by a 25% jump in e-commerce revenues.

Tegut Tests Shelf Replenishment Software

Migros-owned supermarket operator Tegut is piloting new software to avoid out-of-stocks in collaboration with FMCG company Nestlé and IT vendor POS Tuning, Lebensmittel Zeitung reports. The software will be tested in three stores until February 2018.

Migros Rolls Out Click & Collect

Migros’ grocery online shop Le Shop has started to roll out its PickMup click & collect offering. This means that the Swiss market leader will end its pilot of two collection points and shut them down entirely. The new plan is to operate 80 pick-up points for goods ordered via Le Shop by the end of the month and 100 by early summer. Most PickMup facilities are in Migros supermarkets or Migrolino minimarkets.

Migros' Tegut Partners with Amazon in Germany

Local supermarket operator Tegut has begun co-operating with Amazon in Germany. Lebensmittel Zeitung reports that the Migros-owned chain, which is known for its strong focus on organic items, has begun to sell thousands of ambient products on Amazon. The range includes 800 price-entry private label goods as well as organic Alnatura products.
