Rewe Group is making good progress in its endeavour to develop a future-proof supermarket concept, Lebensmittel Zeitung reports. Seven pilots have now been opened under the ‘Rewe 2020’ concept and the retailer is fine tuning the various features.

Rewe Group has decided to discontinue its XXL Mega Discount banner, which has been unique to Romania. Most of the eight stores will be integrated in the Penny discount banner.
