Björn Weber is Head of LZ Retailytics. Together with his group of renowned international retail analysts, he is focused on supporting the retail industry and its suppliers with relevant data, insights and advisory via innovative media products and events.
An internationally renowned analyst, journalist and consultant for the retail industry, Björn has been specialising in retail technology for more than 15 years. Until end of 2014, he was the Research Director for Retail Technology as well as member of the executive board at London-based analyst group Planet Retail. He was also the company’s General Manager in Germany.
Björn is a regular keynote speaker at international industry events such as those of NRF, EHI and the Consumer Goods Forum with a focus on digitalisation, omnichannel strategies and optimisation of retail processes with technology.
Before joining Planet Retail in March 2007, Björn was editor of Lebensmittel Zeitung (LZ) for more than seven years. At LZ, Björn also specialized in analysing the technology and logistics strategies of retail companies and consumer goods manufacturers. His remit also included all reports on e-commerce.
Björn is a trained business journalist and editor. Before he joined LZ in the year 2000, he produced management journals and corporate magazines at Kompart Verlagsgesellschaft (Wirtschaftsdienst Verlag wdv, Bad Homburg). Björn studied sociology, law, politics and education at J.-W.-Goethe Universität, Frankfurt am Main.
