Wholesale and E-Commerce Drive Sales Growth at Coop (CH)

Swiss number two grocery retailer Coop (CH) has announced its full year results, with an increase in net sales of 3%, to CHF29.2bn (EUR26.3bn). The winning departments across the business were the wholesale and production division, as well as its overall e-commerce operation.

Coop (CH) Launches Italy-focused Store Format

The Swiss number two has opened a new store format this week which focuses on Italian products. It is located at the train station in Aarau, in the North of Switzerland. The 200-square-metre-store, called ‘Sapori d’Italia’, offers around 850 products from Italy, as well as fresh products.

Transgourmet’s Central & Eastern Europe division has acquired the Russian wholesaler Global Foods. Transgourmet already worked with the acquired company. Global Foods delivers predominantly to HoReCa clients and had a turnover of RUB2bn (EUR27mn) in 2016.

Coop Launches Veggie Store

The Swiss retailer Coop will open a new store concept at the end of May. The store, which will reportedly be named after Coop’s vegetarian private label line Karma, will be located at the train station in Zug.
